Flanged/Lip Cord

Flanged/Lip/Piping Cord - A decorative cord to which a narrow piece of fabric has been attached. The fabric is slipped into an open space (to be seamed) as say during the making of a cushion.  When the seam is stitched, the cord covers the seamed stitch concealing it. Flanged or lip cord is a multi-purpose trimming effective in its simplicity.  Used extensively in traditional decorating, it is also popular for contemporary interiors.
